Digital certificates are a burgeoning industry that can be used both to show the provenance of an item of clothing, to increase its artistic value and guarantee the quality, as well as to provide traceability and accountability for the resources, human labour and ownership history. A digital certificate is added to the fabric or label of a dress, either with a QR code or by weaving particles into the fabric that can be scanned.
